Construction based apprenticeships are available in a number of different areas and these are outlined below. As at 1 October 2011, the minimum apprenticeship rate is £2.60 per hour, however, any employers may prefer to pay more. Research has shown that the average apprenticeship salary is approx £170 per week.

Employers who take on a 16-18 year old apprentice will only pay their salary, there are no training costs payable as this is the Government will fund their training. For apprentices aged 19+ there is a cost element payable for the training but for those companies paying a CSkills Levy, this will be out-weighed by the grants received on a candidate completing the apprenticeship.
