“Thank you for the three plumbers you have supplied to me via the Building Futures in Norwich project; they are all working out really well. I am looking to secure further work in the area so as to keep them working beyond this contract. I have spoken to them on site several times and they are really enjoying the work and are keen to continue working for my company. Thanks once again for all your help.”
Comment received from Steve Flood at Flood and French, sub-contractor for ISG on Norwich Infill Project – 23 March 2012
Martyn has recently started working with S&M Contractors Ltd, one of the sub-contractors on the Norwich Infill Project. Martyn had previously worked as a ground worker/excavator but had been unemployed since being made redundant on expiry of his excavator tickets. He has just completed his 3600 excavator ticket with help from the Work Programme and the Building Futures in Norwich Project and is now employed full time!
Charlie had been unemployed for 3 years prior to hearing about the Building Futures in Norwich scheme through CTS and Ingeus, one of the Work Programme providers. Charlie had previously worked as an Assistant Site Manager for a main contractor before being made redundant and had struggled to find full time work. Charlie is now working as a Site Safety Co-ordinator with additional site management responsibilities for the ISG Group who are running the Norwich Infill Project on behalf of Norwich City Council.
